Our mission
Tank & Tap exists to help homeowners understand and manage their complete home water system, from wells, pumps, and storage tanks to pressure, testing, filtration, and the routine maintenance that keeps clean water flowing to every tap. We help people who run their own water supply make confident, practical decisions without the hype, the jargon, or the recycled advice you find everywhere else. Everything we publish is written to be genuinely useful first, and everything else second.
Our story
Tank & Tap started because we were frustrated. When we searched for real answers about private wells and home water systems, we found shallow, copy-pasted articles that never actually solved the problem. So we built the resource we wished existed: clear, tested, people-first guidance grounded in real, hands-on experience. What began as a small collection of notes, scribbled after fixing our own pump and cleaning our own tank, has grown into an organized library covering Wells & Water Sources, Pumps & Pressure Systems, Storage Tanks & Distribution, Water Testing & Quality, Filtration & Treatment, and Maintenance & Troubleshooting.

Who is behind Tank & Tap
This site is written and edited by Arjun Mehta. I have spent 15+ years living with, and fixing, my own borewell, pump, and overhead-tank setup: replacing pressure switches at 6 a.m., chasing mystery pressure drops, and learning water testing the hard way. Everything here is tested at my own tap before I recommend it. You can read more on the author page.
